Polar Plunge 2015
Party like it's 32 degrees! You may have heard about the Polar Plunge from a friend, seen it on TV or even read about it online, but what exactly is this "Plunge" everyone is talking about?
The Polar Plunge is hosted by Special Olympics Utah and supported by Utah's Law Enforcement. It's a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support Special Olympics Utah athletes by raising money to jump into frigid water.
Beginning in January, there will be 3 opportunities to take the Plunge across the state. The participants, also known as Plungers, raise a minimum of $50 to jump to frozen glory. Plungers can raise additional funds, earning them extra incentives along the way! Each plunge is different and has an exciting atmosphere that you can get involved in.
This year the St. George Police Department and the Washington County Sherriff's office will be teaming up, so grab your friends and come out to the St. George City Pool to take the Plunge for Special Olympics Utah. Joins us at 10 a.m. for a Sherriff's pancake breakfast, hot cocoa and coffee, bagels and sandwiches provided by Einstein Bros. and Chick-fil-A.
