History as Art and Craft
The Utah State Historical Society has assembled a cast of historians to speak about the art and craft of history--how historians do their work, tackle complex and often controversial topics, and seek mean and significance in the past. This free ranging discussion will emphasize the history of southern Utah and the historians who worked in this corner of the state, including Juanita Brooks.
Moderated by Brad Westwood, director of the Utah Division of State History, the panel discussion includes:
*Amber D'Ambrosio--Special Collections Library, Dixie State University Library
*Edward Leo Lyman--Emeritus Professor of History, Victor Valley College (CA)
*Mark Miller--Professor of History and Department Chair, Southern Utah University
*Jedediah Rogers--Senior State Historian and co-managing editor of the Utah Historical Quarterly
*Richard Saunders--Dean of Library Services, Southern Utah University's Gerald R. Sherratt Library
