The Dixie State University Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Paul Abegg, will put a bow on DSU’s Holiday Concert season with a special Christmas concert on Saturday, December 7.
The DSU Symphony Orchestra will perform a number of holiday classics, including such favorites as “Sleigh Ride” and selections from “The Nutcracker,” among many other popular carols. The Orchestra will also be joined on stage by the Hurricane High School Orchestra and the local band PANGEA.
In addition, in what has become a Christmas tradition at DSU, the evening will be highlighted by a performance of Bill Holcombe’s arrangement of “T’was the Night Before Christmas,” featuring Dixie State First Lady Margaret D. Nadauld as narrator.
The DSU Symphony Orchestra will perform twice this semester, including a pair of concerts during the 2014 spring semester, beginning with the ensemble’s winter concert on Saturday, February 22, followed by the season finale spring concert on Saturday, April 19. The Orchestra will also perform during Dixie State’s Centennial Commencement Ceremonies, which is slated for Friday, May 2, 2014.
