Dixie State University Jazz Fall Concert
The Dixie State University Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of DSU Music Department Chair Glenn Webb, will open its 2013-14 concert season with its annual Fall Concert on Tuesday, October 22.
The Jazz Ensemble will perform a wide array of numbers spanning nearly 85 years (1929-to-present day) of musical history, including selections from the legendary libraries of Cole Porter, Quincy Jones and Miles Davis. The program will also feature exciting arrangements of pop and rock music from the 1970s and 1980s, by artists such as Marvin Gaye, Queen and The Who.
For the sixth-straight season, Dixie State is offering a DSU Performance and Fine Arts Season Pass (excluding dance performances) for just $78 (excluding dance concerts), more than a 40% savings over regular single-event ticket prices, giving patrons access to all DSU theatre productions, and instrumental and vocal concerts for the 2013-14 season. In addition, there are several free recitals on this year’s schedule to complement an already strong performance season.
