Chamber Inspiration Luncheon featuring St. George Mayor Jon Pike
We'll hear from City of St. George Mayor Jon Pike who will be sharing his vision for the future and state of the city report. He will touch on the following topics:
· His personal background and experience.
· A State of the City Report – Including updates on city information services, roads and project updates, an update on the parks, the Electric Theater, and SwitchPoint.
· The progress that has been made on city branding and strategic planning.
· Information on the Proposed County Recreation, Arts, and Parks Tax.
Jon Pike was raised in Salt Lake City and received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Utah and an MBA from Westminster College. Jon has worked in several positions with Intermountain Healthcare since 1990 – and since 1995 here in St. George.
One of the highlights of Jon's career has been working as project manager for the planning and construction of Dixie Regional Medical Center at River Road, which opened in 2003. He currently works as the regional operations director for SelectHealth – the health insurance division of Intermountain Healthcare.
In 2007 Jon was elected to the St. George City Council and in 2013 he was elected as Mayor of St. George. He serves on the boards of Dixie State University, the Children's Justice Center, Dixie Applied Technology College, and as chair of the Fifth District Judicial Nominating Commission.
Jon loves singing, playing the piano, organ, and guitar, as well as water and snow skiing, motorcycling, and walking or biking on St. George's many trails. Jon and his wife Kristy have five children.
