Doug Glendenning Bio
Doug Glendenning draws on 40+ years of restaurant and consumer retail experience. He is from Wichita Kansas and was lucky enough to begin his career with Pizza Hut which started in his hometown. After Pizza Hut, Doug went on to be part of the founding group to grow publicly traded Lone Star Steakhouse from 2 units to 200+ where he was President and Chief Operating Officer as well as served as a Board member. Post Lone Star, Doug became a Lead director and Board Member for the 2000+ unit publicly traded Hollywood Video Corporation. During his six year tenure at Hollywood, he chaired the audit committee as well as the special committee that represented shareholders in the successful sale of the company in 2005. In 2000, Doug and partner Dennis Thompson started Firebirds Woodfired Grill and grew this upscale Polished casual concept to 50 restaurants in 17 states which ultimately resulted in the successful sale of the concept in December 2018. Since 1997 Doug has been a Jimmy John Franchisee with more than 30 units in operation and served on the Board of the parent company Jimmy Johns Inc for nearly 10 years. Co-Chairman of the upstart Viva Chicken with 12 units in operation, he and partner Dennis Thompson are the controlling shareholders of this promising, growth concept. Glendenning’s company G-Enterprises, Inc is the management company where he works with his children to provide professional services and oversee the family’s investments.
From 1997 through 2005, Doug served as Executive Chairman of the Board for the Tuachan Center for the arts where he along with his wife, Gretchen, played a critical role in preserving this fabulous asset for the community. The C3M Family Foundation was established in 2017 and is an independent foundation that is part of the Glendenning Family Office. The Foundation has the dual focus of helping the least fortunate individuals in our community as well as identifying individuals with a specific need where funding can potentially make a difference and improve an individual’s life… making “Individual Impact”.
