"The Man from Earth" (stage play)
The Space Between Theatre Company will premiere ?The Man from Earth? February 13 at the Difiore Center for the Arts, 307 N. Main, in St. George. It is a provocative and exciting play adapted by Richard Schenkman from a screenplay written by Jerome Bixby, a principal writer for the ?Star Trek? TV series. The story begins when history professor John Oldman suddenly and prematurely quits his teaching post. His friends and colleagues want to know why. They arrive on his doorstep with food and an unwillingness to leave without an answer. The real answer shocks and disturbs his friends, and raises even deeper questions. What starts out as a friendly gathering soon builds to an unexpected and shattering climax. The Space Between is presenting ?The Man From Earth? in a ?chamber theatre? environment. This intimate actor/audience relationship enhances the immediacy of the give-and-take, both onstage and off. Following the performance, there will be an open discussion between the cast and audience. The play will run each Thursday, Friday and Saturday for three weeks starting February 13th. Ticket prices are $18 in advance and $20 at the door.
