Summer Art Stroll
Join downtown St. George fine art galleries, museums, and restaurants for a lively evening on Friday, June 14th, during the Art On Main Summer gallery stroll from 6:00 to 9:00pm, with opportunities to enjoy a "pre-party" at the Painted Pony Restaurant from 4:00 to 6:00pm with $5 appetizers, and an "after-party" at George's Corner Restaurant including live music. Featured gallery artists include painters Simon Winegar, Shanna Kunz and Laura Gourley, ceramist Brady Richardson, and jewelry artist Susan Farthing Chapman. Currently showing at the St. George Art Museum-- the first stop on the walk-- are Russian icons from the Museum of Russian Icons, "Russia In Transition" paintings by Andrew Zabla-Zabelin, and works by the Utah Glass Guild. Live music by duos Beanz N' Wheels and Seldom Scene will add to the ambiance during the gallery stroll, while Dick Earl's "Electric Whitness" blues music will entertain at the George's Corner after-party.
To participate in Art On Main, begin at the St. George Art Museum, located at 48 East 200 North, at 6:00pm. Admission to the museum is waived the evening of the stroll. Make sure to pick up a free "punch card" at the Art Museum that is marked at each gallery attended. Then, visit each of eight fine art destinations, enjoying a variety of live music, unique artwork, and the opportunity to meet many local professional artists. Turn in the punch card at Twenty-Five Main Café before 9:00pm, when a drawing will be held for a piece of original artwork. Participating galleries include Bedard Fine Art, Authentique Gallery, Split Rock Gallery, Twiggs and Moore Gallery, The Mission Gallery, Print It Shop, Wide Angle Photography, and Twenty-Five Main Cafe. Additional information about Art On Main is available at StGeorgeArt.com, or by calling 627-4525.
Art on Main is a non-profit project of the Art Around the Corner Foundation, and is supported in part by the City of St. George via the St. George Arts Commission.
