The Washington County Historical Society will sponsor a lecture at
the Old Pioneer Courthouse on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 7:00 pm.
Kelton Crooks will speak on "Silver in Sandstone". A native of Washington
County and graduate of Dixie State University, Kelton will lecture on the
unbelievable discovery of silver ore in sandstone, and the publicity
campaign by William T. Barbee that turned the small Mormon towns of
Harrisburg and Leeds into Bonanza City and Silver Reef in 1876.
The Old County Courthouse is located at 97 E. St. George Blvd. in
St. George. Everyone is welcome and admission is free
