Run Three States in One Marathon!!
The Course Description: The course is a rolling downhill route. The first 18 or so miles are downhill or pretty flat, while the last 8 have some fairly substantial climbs. Please train and be ready for the uphill parts! There are a few steep pitches!” PLEASE NOTE: The race routes for each distance are run on open roads. We are unable to obtain permits to close the roads because the road we’re running on is the only alternative to Hwy 15 in the event of a major accident or other issue closing the highway. Runners must stay on the left side of the road, facing traffic, as far to the left as possible so as not to impede traffic. After the starts, runners are expected to run no more than 2-3 abreast, and to move to single file if traffic would otherwise be impeded.
Certification: Marathon route is certified, Code NV11007DCR.
Packet Pickup/Packet Expo: Located at the CasaBlanca Event Center Friday evening from 5pm until 8pm and Saturday morning from 4:30am to 5:15am. NO REGISTRATION Saturday; but you may register or transfer registrations Friday.
Buses: There is no parking at the start lines for the Marathon or Half Marathon. All racers MUST take buses to the start. Buses will leave from the CasaBlanca Event Center. Boarding times: Marathon – 5:30. Half Marathon – 6:45. 5K – 7:40 Any required changes will be posted here and at packet pickup. All times are Nevada Time / Pacific Standard Time.
Timing: State-of-the-art chip timing will be provided by the race. Your race bib will have a disposable timing chip attached to it. Please leave the chip on the bib, and wear your bib pinned to the front of your shirt so it’s visible. If permits allow, and there are more than 400 runners at each start, we plan to chip time the starts of both the full and half marathons. The 5k will have a “gun” start. All runners will get a chip time at the finish line.
Results: We will try to have results up on the website as soon as possible after the races are finished. Please note: Based on USATF guidelines, overall results are based on “gun time,” meaning the actual race start time, not the time you ran past the start line. Age group results will be based on “chip time,” meaning the actual time your chip registered at the start line, if timing at the start is available (see above). If you’re an elite runner and have expectations of winning or placing overall, please make sure you’re at the front of the pack at the start!
Clothing Drop-Off: You may drop clothing off in designated areas at the start lines, by putting your belongings in the bag you’ll receive at packet pickup, and writing your name on that. Although we make every effort to get your personal belongings back to you safely, the Mesquite Tri States Marathon is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please do not leave valuable items in your drop bag.
Transfers/Exchanges/Refunds: If a runner cannot attend, he/she may transfer to a new person, but the new runner must fill out a transfer form and pay a $10 cash only transfer fee. Transfer forms will be available at packet pickup Friday only. Upon payment the new runner will either be assigned a new bib # or take over the bib # from the person giving up their spot. The new runner must bring written authorization, a copy of the original registration confirmation or a copy of the other person’s ID.
No refunds, but if you cancel within 30 days of the race, you will receive a 50% non-transferrable credit to be used towards the following year’s race.
Aid Stations: Beginning at mile 3, aid stations will be located about every other mile. Water will be available at every aid station. Energy drinks, and additional surprise snacks and goodies will be available at every other aid station. Chocolate milk, bananas, and other snacks and drinks will be available at the finish line.

Time Limits: To be considered an official finisher, the following time limits will be enforced: Marathon – 6 hours; Half Marathon – 4 hours.
