DSC President's Colleagues Meeting
Dixie State College of Utah will host its fifth President’s Colleagues of DSC meeting of the 2012-13 academic year featuring a presentation on the European Union and the Euro by Colleagues member Robert G. Fehlman.
Fehlman’s presentation, entitled “The European Union and the European Debt Crisis,” will discuss how the current financial crisis in the European Union has revealed critical flaws, which if unresolved, may cause the disintegration of the EU and the Euro. A native of Yost, Utah, Fehlman earned a Master’s Degree from Utah State University in International Relations, a Master’s Degree in International Business Management from Thunderbird Graduate School, and a Fulbright Scholarship to Germany. He also completed post-graduate classes at USC and Cambridge University, and served on the German Fulbright Commission for eight years.
He spent five years as a college instructor and 24 years in international banking, including 21 years in Europe, with 11 years service as country manager for Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe for Security Pacific. Fehlman also worked as a country manager for Austria and Germany for Bank of America.
The President’s Colleagues of Dixie State College, founded nearly 20 years ago by former DSC President Dr. Douglas Alder, is a group of retired professors and other professionals who live mostly in the St. George and Washington County area. Dr. Alder, who also started an Honors Program at DSC, organized the Colleagues as a way to increase academic activities on campus.
The Colleagues meet together once a month during the academic year to hear presentations from each other and/or invited guests. The next Colleagues meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 4th, 2013.
