Dixie Regional Seminar Teaches When to Use Hospice
When is it time to use hospice? Speaker Karen Nowling will answer this question during Dixie Regional’s Active Aging Series presentation at 10 a.m. on Feb. 24.
End-of-life care can be an emotional and confusing topic, particularly when it hits close to home. Understanding options and being able to explain wants and needs is critical. Hospice seeks to neither prolong life, nor speed death. Rather it is about helping the patient make the most out of his or her remaining days. It provides support for family members and caregivers. The focus of hospice is on comfort, managing pain and symptoms, not curing illness.
