In an effort to help community members reduce heart disease risk, Dixie Regional Medical Center is hosting its annual Heart Health Education Seminar. The seminar will feature three local physicians who will address different heart-related topics: Dr. Alberto Brizolara will speak on what you need to know about heart attacks; Dr. Jaime Molden will speak about stroke risk with atrial fibrillation; and Dr. Theophillus Owan will speak about septal abnormalties related to stroke.
“The best part about the forum is it gives attendees an opportunity to ask the cardiologists any questions they may have,” said Kendra Smith, cardiologist specialist at Dixie Regional. “It’s the perfect atmosphere where individuals can get their questions and concerns addressed.”
“With the changes that are affecting today's healthcare, it’s important as a society to become educated and proactive in our health,” said Maryann Covington, cardiovascular program specialist. “It’s a priceless opportunity to hear these cardiologists speak, in a welcoming atmosphere, on heart disease prevention and the latest technologies available at Dixie Regional.”
