Dinosaur Museum Exhibit Unveiling
This year the Dino Ah!Torium has something very special to celebrate during Dino Days! A new dinosaur replica has just arrived from England and is the only one to be displayed in the Western Hemisphere! The original fossil this replica was made from was discovered in 2000, the same year that the tracks were found the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site, and this dinosaur is also from the same Early Jurassic Period as those dinosaurs that made the St. George tracks. Brought to America and donated to the museum by Chamber of Commerce members Virginius “Jinks” and Barbara Anne Dabney, this new exhibit will draw people to the St. George area from not only the U.S.A. but also scientists and visitors from other countries.
A full program introducing this new acquisition will be presented at the Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Feb 9th with a Grand Opening of the special display following at 5:00 PM at the museum. In addition to the Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting, the Dabneys will be honored for their contribution to the Discovery Site and refreshments will be served.
