Chamber Training Series "Creating Heaven Out Out Hell: Improving How We Work Together"
This week's Chamber Training series features Joseph Staker who will train about: "Creating Heaven Out of Hell: Improving How We Work Together"
Working with others can be the most rewarding—and the most difficult—part of work. How well we work together impacts our individual and organizational success. Can you relate to any of the following?
-People seem to care more about their own projects and concerns than overall success.
-You see defensiveness and blame where you'd like to see ownership.
-There seems to be a lack of genuine concern for coworkers, customers, or vendors.
-People are more interested in gossip and complaining than in talking candidly about problems.
-Issues and conflicts get escalated up to leadership when they could be resolved directly between people or teams.
This presentation is very fun and you'll learn powerful insights and tools that can improve how we work together.
Joe Staker is a natural speaker, facilitator, and flat-out people person. Need proof? He was once offered a job as a tour guide on the spot after teh owner of the company watched him speak for fifteen minutes. (He accepted the job and soon became the company's highest-rated guide.) People love his sense of humor, practical insight and plain-spoken nature.
Before moving into the world of interpersonal skills training, Joe spent two years working for one of the largest farming and agricultural co-ops in teh United States. While there, he provided sought-after instruction and development to business owners and land managers from all over teh Western United States. Previously, he owned and operated a successful horticultural service company for nearly twenty years, and has over a decade of experience facilitating small classes and large multi-day tour groups.
Joe loves history, being outdoors, welding contraptions in his garage, shooting and spending time with his family. When he's not speaking, leading a class, or working in the office, he's likely reading, killing time on Facebook, or using Diet Coke to try and stay awake.
