Chamber Lunch "How to Have a Culture Based Business"
In this presentation, the premise of ‘culture’ will be examined to include its definition and importance. Considerations will be proposed for examining your business culture along with suggestions to move forward making identified changes in order to get the results necessary for organizational sustainability.
Chris serves as the Human Resources Business Partner for Wells Enterprises, Inc., the maker of the famous Blue Bunny ice cream. In her 8.5 year tenure she has held oversight for strategic development and administration of policies and programs in HR, Safety, Security, and Training and Development. She has been instrumental in the design and implementation of professional development programs for her front line and supervisory level staff. Additionally, she is a Certified Advanced Facilitator for the University Of Phoenix Online School Of Business for the MBA and undergraduate programs; teaches HR programs for the Dixie Applied Technology College, and teaches for the International Federation of Employee Benefits Specialists. She has held previous corporate and field Human Resources roles in trucking and distribution; durable goods manufacturing; printing; staffing, and healthcare. Previous to her career in Human Resources, Chris spent 10 years in the banking industry.
Chris’s education background includes a BS in Business; MA in Human Resource Management, and currently she is working on a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She holds several certifications to include the Professional in Human Resources (PHR); Group Benefits Associate (GBA); Compensation Management Specialist (CMS); Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS); Birkman Method; Lominger Competencies; Achieve Global; DDI; Industrial and Office Ergonomics and is HazMat certified.
Chris believes deeply in giving back to her community so she participates in many civic organizations. These include the Color Country Human Resources Association as current Treasurer and a Past President and as Chair of the DXATC School of Office and Technology Business Advisory Board. She is a member of the Department of Workforce Services Western Regional Council and the State Workforce Investment Board. She also serves on the Washington County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), United Way Dixie Board, Leadership Dixie Board, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), and the Southern Utah Manufacturing and Distribution Committee.
