Chamber Inspiration Luncheon #believe4britton
This Wednesday's Inspiration Luncheon will feature Jesse Shipp, father of Santa Clara youth Britton Shipp.
Britton slipped into a coma in November 2014 after an ATV accident during an activity for a school dance. His recovery prospects at the time were unknown. After months of rehabilitation, Britton went home in April. Britton has had to learn all motor functions again, but his family, the medical staff, and Britton himself have all pushed ahead. Britton’s perseverance and attitude are one reason the St. George community rallied around the teen.
At this luncheon, you'll hear from Dixie Regional Medical Center Neurosurgeon Ben Fox who first operated on Britton when he was lifeflighted to the emergency room. You'll also hear from Neuro Rehabilitation director Rusty Moore who has said brain injuries are so varied, that's he's never seen anything like Britton's recovery before.
Jesse will talk about his son's recovery.
