Arbor Day Celebration
Come plant a tree!
Leave a legacy for future generations to enjoy.....
Community pride is a treasured component of a beautiful city and on Saturday, April 27, community members can show their pride at the service project being held at the Hela Seegmiller Historical Farm. The Shade Tree Board, City of St. George and Star Nursery are partnering to provide this annual event in order to improve the area surrounding the Center.
Throughout the day, volunteers will be busy planting trees and shrubs to re-create the Farm’s orchard. So grab your work gloves and help plant new trees in order to improve the aesthetics at this unique park in St. George. A light lunch consisting of hot dogs, chips and bottled water will be served to those who assist with the beautification projects.
The Shade Tree Board will also have valuable information on proper planting and pruning techniques for FREE to all those interested. Professionals will be on hand to answer any other gardening questions you may have. Star Nursery will be giving away trees to each family that attends the celebration. The Tonaquint Nature Center staff will have FREE crafts for the kids to create from 9:00AM to 1:00PM.
