DESCRIPTION:Join us for our quarterly Professional Business Women's luncheon where Bonnie Jean Beesley will speak on "The Value of Education & Implementation".\n\n\n\nBonnie Jean Matheson Beesley is a homemaker who also serves as a volunteer in her community and in her church and participates in family businesses.  Her priority is Education\, specifically supporting efforts to raise the overall attainment rate of Higher Education in the State of Utah and closing the Achievement Gap between populations.  Current efforts include Envision Utah's "Your Utah\, Your Future Vision for 2050" Education Task Force.  \n\nShe served as chair of the Utah Board of Regents\, where she was a member from 2003-2015.  She represented Utah on the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) where she also served as chair.  Appointed by Governor Herbert\, she co-chaired the Women's College Task Force with former Governor Olene Walker.  She served on Salt Lake Community College Board of Trustees for seven years including five years as chair.  Salt Lake Community College awarded her an Honorary Degree of Humane Letters in 2001.  \n\nMs. Beesley is serving as an officer or director of several Utah businesses\, including President and Chair of Heritage Holding Corporation and of The Beesley Family Foundation. She has served on the board of the Utah Symphony and Opera and other civic organizations.  A graduate of the University of Utah with a BA in Linguistics\, she worked after college as a computer programmer and systems analyst.   \n\nMs. Beesley loves classical art\, classical and sacred music\, and plays the violin.  She currently serves as a leader with young women in her church.  She loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking\, biking and walking.\n\n \n\nShe is married to Brent Beesley of Salt Lake City.  They have seven children and fourteen grandchildren.  The Beesley family has lived in several American cities as well as London and Paris.
