SUMMARY:Dixie State University to Host Annual Employment Fair
DESCRIPTION:Dixie State University will host its annual Employment and Internship Fair on Wednesday\, February 25.  This year's fair is open to all students and community members and will feature nearly 40 registered employers seeking to hire four-year graduates and students with associate degrees and certificates. \n\n\n\nDSU Assistant Director of Career Services Ali Threet noted that this year's fair is full of employers who are looking to hire DSU graduates for full-time career positions\, along with other employers who will offer part-time and seasonal jobs and internships. She noted that students and other attendees looking for career advice and information should come dressed professionally\, prepared to engage potential employers\, ask questions and discover what each company at the fair has to offer.\n\n\n\n"We realize that most students come to the area and never want to leave\, so this year we focused on contacting companies in southern Utah that make a big impact\," Threet said. "This is a great opportunity for them to begin networking and getting their brand out to the business world in southern Utah. Students may not leave with a job\, but our fair opens the door to possibilities in the near future."\n\n\n\nFair attendees can also expect prospective employers handing out various promotional items and materials\, along with a free lunch as participants will receive a coupon for a slice of pizza and a drink from DSU's Red Rock Caf . In addition\, this year's event will feature on-the-spot resume' reviews provided by representatives from LDS Employment Services\, who will provide advice to students on how to better their marketability.\n\n\n\nAmong the many employers that will attend this year's DSU Employment Fair include: Intermountain Healthcare\; State Bank of Southern Utah\, SkyWest\, Northwestern Mutual\, Best Friend Animal Society\, Mountain America Credit Union\, Printer Logic\, Red Cliffs Health & Rehab\, Walgreens\, Wal-Mart\; among many others. In addition\, branches of the United States Military and other government agencies\, including the National Parks Service will be on hand with employment information.
