DESCRIPTION:Dixie State University will host its annual Homecoming Queen Pageant on Wednesday\, October 16\, at 7:30 p.m.\n\n\n\nFor the first time in the institution's 100-plus history\, the annual Pageant will be held the week prior to DSU's Homecoming Week\, which will take place Oct. 21-26. In all\, 14 contestants will vie for the title of Ms. Dixie State University 2013-14\, as well as a full tuition scholarship and an opportunity to compete at Miss Utah Pageant next June for a chance to advance to the Miss America Pageant in 2014.\n\n\n\nThe pageant hopefuls will be judged in physical fitness/swimwear\, evening wear and talent areas of the competition\, along with the customary onstage question and personal interview portions of the event. Outgoing Miss Dixie 2013 Krissia Beatty\, who finished as fourth runner-up at the 2013 Miss Utah Pageant\, and DSU Director of Student Involvement and Leadership Jordon Sharp will serve as pageant emcees. This year's pageant theme is "On Broadway\," which will feature the contestants performing a number of Broadway show tunes.
