Potts graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology from Brigham Young University in 1974. He then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Biology at Utah State University in 1978\, and completed his Ph.D. in Zoology at the University of Washington in 1986. Potts was also a National Institutes of Health Fellow at the University of Florida from 1986-89.\n\n\n\nThe Dixie Forum is a lecture series designed to introduce DSU students\, faculty\, and the St. George community to diverse ideas and personalities and to widen their world views. Forum lectures are free and open to the general public for participation.
