DESCRIPTION:Emergency Preparedness Presentation\n\n \n\nJoin us as Josh Thayn\, Executive Director Event Services and Risk Management at DSU\, discusses emergency preparedness procedures for DSU and St. George. \n\nAbout Josh Thayn\n\n\nJosh Thayn is the Executive Director of Event Services & Risk Management at Dixie State University. He oversees the central scheduling\, event production\, ticket office\, guest services\, parking and risk management departments and the health\, safety and emergency management programs. He has been involved with fire and emergency services for 20 years. Josh has held the rank of Firefighter/EMT\, Paramedic\, Engineer\, Training Officer\, Captain\, Fire Marshal\, Safety Officer\, Emergency Manager and Director. He received his paramedic certification in 2002 from then Dixie State College and was an adjunct instructor for the program. In 2005 he completed his Bachelor of Science in Public Emergency Services Management from Utah Valley University. He was a certified Instructor and Tester for the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy. He holds a Master of Arts degree from Arizona State University in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. Josh has been heavily involved with training\, leadership growth\, public education\, fire prevention\, and emergency management program development. He will be married for 20 years next month\, has 4 children\, and resides in Washington City. He is very active serving in the community and within his church. Hobbies include sports\, outdoor activities\, and family fun. Josh is honored and excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with our great Chamber of Commerce.
