The Covid-19 pandemic and "The Great Resignation" presented the area with significant challenges in the employment realm leading to increased challenges for the area's businesses. In the true spirit of Southern Utah\, researchers at Southern Utah University and Utah Tech University\, with the support of multiple local and State agencies\, collaborated on a study that resulted in findings that both validate and educate about a critical juncture occurring in southwest Utah's workforce.  This research recently won a PRSA Utah action research award and its one-year model for recovery was funded by the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity for deployment in 2023.
