The presentation also talks about the wildly popular "Downton Abbey" series\, and even PBS's approach to this year's election coverage.\n\n	KUED Channel 7 has a proud 54-year history of service to the state of Utah. The station went on the air on January 20\, 1958 thanks to the urging of Neal A. Maxwell and other Utah pioneering broadcast luminaries like Rex Campbell\, Keith Engar and Bruce Christensen. Even after half a century of free broadcasting 24/7 365 days a year to all the citizens of Utah\, KUED's format\, ownership\, and principled approach to educational television has not changed. Public television is also a part of today's very dynamic and volatile media landscape. Included in the presentation is also a look at the future of media in our lives including the role of public media. Is it worth the cost? And with hundreds of channels out there\, do we really need it?
