His arrival extends the brain and spine services available at Dixie Regional\, and fills a critical piece needed as the hospital continues on its journey toward becoming a level II trauma center.  \n\nIn addition to being a neurosurgeon\, Dr. Fox is also an interventional neuroradiologist\, so he is specifically trained in procedures to treat stroke patients who either do not respond to "clot-busting" medications\, or who arrive at the hospital more than three hours after a stroke and therefore do not qualify for current therapies.\n\nA native of California\, Dr. Fox regularly visited family in southern Utah while growing up and has spent the past three years working with Dr. Cole and Dixie Regional administration to put together the equipment\, personnel\, and training needed to bring neurosurgery and neuroradiology to southern Utah.
