DESCRIPTION:Mike Turner is the volunteer chairman and one of the co-founders of the Utah chapter of the National Honor Flight organization. Utah Honor Flight is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that began in 2013 and takes veterans to Washington to see their memorials and experience the type of gratitude and support from their fellow Americans proportional to the Veterans' dedication and sacrifice to our country. \n\n\n\nMike has been self-employed since 1990 in Richfield\, Utah\, and has spent 25 years in Reserve law enforcement with Richfield City Police Dept. and Secier Search and Rescue. He was a member of the Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce Board from 2009-2013 and Chair of the Community Covenants Military Family Support program 2011-2013. He served a term on the Richfield City Council 2009-2013 and has been Utah Honor Flight Chair since January 2014. He has escorted veterans on Utah Honor Flight trips 27 times and is the proud son of a Korea and Vietnam war veteran. \n\n\n\nUtah Honor Flight is run solely by volunteers. The trips invlude a wreath-laying ceremony at the National World War II Memorial followed by stops at the Korean War Memorial\, the Vietnam Memorial and other natable sites in the area. To date\, Utah Honor Flight has sent more than 1\,450 veterans to Washington D.C.\, thanks to the support of private citizens and businesses.
