Apr 1    GolfHER
It's no secret that many a business deal has been closed on a golf course and golf has long been regarded as the language of business.

Historically, golf has been male-dominated, and societal norms and expectations have discouraged women from actively participating or seeking opportunities on the golf course. In this male-dominated setting, women can feel added pressure to prove themselves, leading to heightened anxiety and reduced confidence. Because of the stereotypes and pressure to perform, women continually take themselves out of the conversation by choosing not to participate in golf-related activities.

Encouraging women to embrace golf and providing opportunities for women to participate will foster a more inclusive and dynamic environment that can benefit both business and personal growth.

GolfHER was created to address these issues by creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for women on the golf course. Promoting equal opportunities, offering access to training and development, and celebrating the achievements of female golfers can help break down the barriers and boost women's confidence on the golf course. GolfHER is putting women back in the conversation.

Apr 17    Chamber Power Lunch | Washington County Childrens Justice Center

Before there were Children’s Justice Centers (called Children’s Advocacy Centers, or CACs in other parts of the country), investigation of child abuse required multiple interviews of the child victim by the police, social services, medical personnel, mental health professionals and attorneys. Each interview occurred at a different place and rarely in a setting that was familiar or comfortable for the child.

Now, the Children’s Justice Center provides a homelike environment where a single interview is conducted by a trained child forensic interviewer, and all of the professionals then work together to provide the best-possible outcome for the child and family.

The Washington County Multidisciplinary Team includes representatives from:

    • Law enforcement
    • Child Protective Services
    • Prosecution
    • Mental health
    • Medical
    • Victim advocacy
    • Child forensic interviewer

May 3 - May 4    IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship

Land of Endurance

Intermountain Health IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship St. George is an iconic race where athletes from all over the world come to prove themselves against this legendary course. In a land sculpted by persistence and determination, athletes looking for an epic challenge will navigate a path through two iconic state parks, basalt lava fields, and a fragile desert reserve as they rise to conquer one of the most prestigious and striking events in the world.

The adventure doesn’t stop when you cross the finish line.  Greater Zion’s breathtaking scenery and views of the surrounding red rock canyons have made the region an ideal destination for athletes for years. With a million-year geologic history and a desert location at the edge of the Pine Valley Mountains and Zion National Park, St. George is the poster child of the American Southwest.  In this desert of extremes, a land carved by ancient seas, a challenge lies waiting.  Rise to it.  This is the Land of Endurance.

May 13    GolfHER
