Soiree Musicale! Featuring Mozart and Faure Piano Quartet
Soiree Musicale literally means “an evening of chamber music”— music written to be played in intimate settings. The Lorraine Boccardo Black Box Theatre is the ideal setting for you and your family to come and enjoy the spectacular sounds of the piano, violin, viola and cello played together. The quartet will fill the theatre with the music of Mozart, Faure, and Dohnanyi. The concert begins at 7:00pm. Tickets are $30 ($10 for current students).
For one special night in Ivins, we are thrilled to showcase the world-class talent of musicians from our own region. On piano is Christian Bohnenstengel, Director of Keyboard Studies at SUU; playing violin is Urs Rutishauser, Director of the Chamber Music Society of Southern Utah; on viola will be Linda Ghidossi-Deluca, head of the Vista Music Program; and on cello is Jessika Soli, member of the Rosin Cello Duo.
The quartet will open with the first movement of the Serenade for String Trio by Dohnanyi. They will then play two of the finest works of the classical and romantic traditions: the dashingly upbeat Mozart G Minor Quartet, and the Faure C Minor Quartet, which bridges romanticism and impressionism with modern themes with blues-like melodies. The evening promises to be an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.
