Making an impact and a difference in Southern Utah:
- Operation School Bell assists financially disadvantaged children by providing new school clothing. Children who benefit from the program can see that ALSU is dedicated to supporting and their education, helping recipients to know that going to and staying in school can make a difference to their future.
- ALSU helps more than 5,000 children living in homes below the poverty level in Washington County
- ALSU volunteers work with school administrators and counselors to ensure children with the greatest need receive assistance.
- Washington County teachers and administrators report that children’s attendance improves when they can take pride in their appearance and attend school more regularly.
The Assistance League of Southern Utah is an all-volunteer organization whose mission is to help enrich the lives of the children in the Washington County School District by providing new school clothes, shoes, and hygiene kits. ALSU Members also support literacy programs in local schools. By providing the basic needs for these children, they feel more confident in themselves and do better in school.
