About Staheli Family Farm
Staheli Family Farm was established in 1889 by Frank Staheli Sr., a vegetable farmer and immigrant from Switzerland. Frank was not only one of the first mayors in Washington, Utah but an agricultural pioneer who built the first rock irrigation ditches here- the primary irrigation system still used today.
Over the years, the farm has been used for a variety of agricultural experiments through a university extension program and has played a major role in the St. George and Washington agricultural history. Staheli Family Farm has primarily produced beef, alfalfa, and sugar beets. Over twelve years ago, we saw a need to educate children about where food comes from and decided to incorporate agritourism into our business model. Each year, we now host an average of 30,000 corn maize visitors during the month of October alone!
