Name: Framed—A Comedy about Art, Marriage, and Ambition
Date: November 10, 2018
Time: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM MST
Event Description:
Joanie, an artist, wants recognition for her paintings, and her crime boss husband Nick can make sure she gets it. May, the young wife of Jake, just wants to learn how to paint, while Jake wants to elevate himself, and become a crime thug. November 8-17, 7 pm, 3 pm matinee on the 17th.
“‘Framed’ is a satirical play about artists and the soul-killing nature of ambition—specifically how it affects marriage and personal relationships. I have flavored the script with small amounts of sex, criminal activity, and auto mechanics. It ruthlessly blends humor and drama, is fiercely character-driven, and it explores multi-generational issues of gender, jealousy and growth.”

*After the play, there is an interactive discussion with the following local artists and art lovers, addressing the main question of the play: “What makes an artist an artist?”

November 8: Cheryl and Gary Collins
November 9: Lynnette Loughton & Sharon Turley
November 10: Hollie and Greg Ragland
November 15: Kathy Johnson and Ginny Northcott
November 16: Datura Gallery’s Shauna McCullough and Rosemary McFadden
November 17: Marcia Rouse Robinson
November 17: Abe McCowan & Georgia Johnson

Concessions will be available before, during intermission, and after the play.

Framed is appropriate for people old enough to be married.
